FASTag annual pass price : In a major move to simplify toll payments and improve highway travel convenience, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways ( MoRTH ) on Wednesday announced the launch of a FASTag-based Annual Pass for non-commercial private vehicles. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari made the announcement on X, confirming that the new pass will be priced at Rs 3,000 and will be available starting August 15, 2025.

The Annual Pass will allow up to 200 toll-free trips or remain valid for one year from the date of activation—whichever comes earlier. It is applicable to private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans, particularly benefiting users residing within a 60-kilometre radius of toll plazas.

Available via Rajmarg Yatra App and NHAI website

The FASTag Annual Pass can be availed through the Rajmarg Yatra mobile application, as well as the official portals of NHAI and MoRTH. A dedicated link for activation and future renewals is expected to be released ahead of the formal rollout.

Gadkari: A Step Towards Toll Reform

Highlighting the benefits, Nitin Gadkari stated that the initiative will streamline toll collection and reduce user frustration caused by frequent deductions during short trips. “This system allows users to make a one-time payment, thereby eliminating the need for repeated toll charges. It will also reduce congestion and enhance movement efficiency across highways,” he said.

The government expects the Annual Pass to resolve long-standing public grievances while ensuring seamless highway access for frequent local commuters.

Digital Push to Modernise Road Travel

The introduction of the FASTag-based Annual Pass aligns with the Centre’s broader push towards digitisation and infrastructure modernisation. Officials say the scheme will limit disputes, speed up toll plaza movement, and bring uniformity in access across the national highway network.

With this new offering, the government aims to improve the overall highway travel experience for India’s growing number of private vehicle users.
